The Winneshiek Medical Center (WNC) recently named Bev Rustad, a registered nurse at the center’s Med-Surg inpatient department, its 2016 Star of the Year for her dedication to quality health care and her co-workers.
“Although a veteran in the profession, Bev is not afraid of change and embraces new practices because they will provide better outcomes for patients.” WNC's Chief Administrative Officer Lisa Radtke said as she presented the award. “Bev cares about fellow colleagues in the department, and takes steps to ensure they are satisfied in their job as well as have time to spend with their families.”
Announced at the WNC’s annual Staff Appreciation Celebration, Rustad earned the honor for her ability to adapt to developments in the field and her long, dedicated service to her co-workers, including creating the work schedule for the 30 nurses in her department.
“Bev is one who has worked here for many years and still comes in each day ready to take on new challenges,” Radtke said. “She is conscientious, dedicated and knowledgeable with an attitude that motivates others to be their best. Bev is described by her co-workers as kind, compassionate, steady, level-headed, experienced, loyal and unflappable. I am honored to name her as our 2016 Star of the Year.”
