Citizens First Bank recently announced that it will be hosting its annual coin appraisal event on April 11 in Clinton.
The event will start at 10 a.m. and educate the community on the value of its treasures and bring residents into the bank.
“This is an opportunity for the community to come in to Citizens First Bank and work with a reputable dealer in a safe environment,” Kathy Forrest, president of Citizens First Bank, said. “We are looking forward to hosting this event.”
Ron Beckstrom, a member of the American Numismatic Association, will provide his services for free during the event.
“It seems that everyone has that one little box of treasures stashed in a sock drawer – it could be a coin from Uncle George that you’ve always been curious about,” he said.
He will appraise coins, paper money, jewelry and other rare items. He will also be open to buying valuable pieces.
The event is open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis.
