Decorah Public Library is celebrating National Library Week with a variety of programs and events to highlight the importance of reading, supporting the local library and how the library serves the community.
The national celebration runs through April 15.
“The library embraces the entire community, offering unlimited opportunities for personal growth and lifelong learning,” Decorah Public Library Director Lorraine Borowski said in a press release. “Libraries level the playing field for people of any age who are seeking the information and access to technologies that will improve their quality of life.”
As part of the celebration, the Decorah Public Library is allowing individuals with overdue books the opportunity to bring them in and have their fines forgiven.
