Stetson acquires Gerdau Construction Products branches

Stetson Building Products LLC announced the acquisition of five branches of Gerdau Construction Products by Construction Supply Group (CSG), a portfolio company of The Sterling Group.

The Gerdau branches will be divided between Stetson Building Products, which will acquire the Decatur and Urbana, Illinois; Eldridge, Iowa; and Madison, Wisconsin, locations, as well as Brock White Construction Supplies, which under the brand name BW Supply will acquire the Appleton, Wisconsin, location.

“Sterling has a vision to build a best-in-class distribution business, and the entire Stetson team is excited about being a part of that success,” Stetson President Marte Cook said at the time of the acquisition. “The opportunity to join forces with Brock White and Border made Sterling the ideal partner for the next phase of our company’s growth.”

The Sterling Group has acquired 49 companies, with investments in manufacturing, distribution and industrial service. It was founded in 1982.

Roger Stetson founded Stetson Building Products, a distributor of construction products, in 1955. The company has expanded to nine locations in the Midwest, including sites in Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. The distribution warehouse is located in Maquoketa, Iowa. Stetson was acquired by The Sterling Group in December.
