The Greater Des Moines Partnership recently received an award recognizing it as one of the top 10 economic development organizations in the country.
Site Selection magazine presented the Mac Conway Award to the capital investor based on six criteria: “total projects, total investment associated with those projects and total jobs associated with those projects; and those same three numbers calculated per capita for the metro area,” according to a press release.
The partnership contributed millions of dollars in new investments last year and has expanded many of its projects into new areas, including Des Moines. Major projects include data center projects by Microsoft and Facebook, which have created new jobs.
“This award underscores the momentum that DSM is experiencing thanks to our public-private partnerships, corporate leadership, strategic visioning and ability to work together regionally,” Jay Byers, CEO of the partnership, said. “Our team is more committed than ever to work closely with our regional partners to maximize this exciting economic development momentum.”
