An independent panel of scientific experts has awarded Neumentix Phenolic Complex K110-42, a Kemin supplement ingredient, a safety status after review.
The self-affirmed generally recognized as safe (GRAS) status is given to medical drugs that have been clinically tested by a panel of scientists. Neumentix was shown to support cognitive health through its botanical ingredient and helps improve memory and sleeping patterns in adults, according to a press release. A Natural Marketing Institute study found that the drug has had a growing interest of young professionals.
"We are seeing increased demand for foods and supplements that can naturally help people increase their productivity throughout the day," Kim Colletti, global cognition product manager at Kemin Human Health and Nutrition, said in the release. "Neumentix has the potential to meet this growing demand, especially for busy professionals struggling to manage work, care for their families and maintain their health."
Neumentix contains over 50 phenolic constituents and developed by Kemin.
"The Neumentix GRAS status enables our customers to expand into the functional foods market and help further improve the lives of consumers by offering cognitive health benefits," Anita Norian, president of Kemin Human Nutrition and Health, said.
