Voting is underway for the Community Excellence Award, which honors small businesses that have shown growth and community engagement over the past year.

Candidates for the award are selected from the Dream Big Small Business of the Year and Business Achievement Award finalists. Those chosen as candidates have demonstrated leadership, shown improvements to the community and served the customers and residents of Iowa, according to a press release.

Online voting will continue until July 31 and will account for 30 percent of the final score. Seventy percent will be up to the judges' evaluation. The business with the highest final score will receive the Community Excellence Award.

The winner will be presented with the award at the Small Business Summit held from Sept. 10-13 in Washington, D.C.
