Enterprise software company Workiva's Wdesk platform was used in the first quarter to submit 75 percent of Inline XBRL filings to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Additionally, the platform was used in the same quarter to file 53 percent of all XBRL facts with the commission, according to a press release.
Inline XBRL eliminates duplicative SEC filing requirements and allows a machine-readable format to be used within companies' HTML filings. It combines both filing types into a single, browser-friendly document.
“The move to Inline XBRL does not change our customers’ processes for creating and filing SEC reports," Matt Rizai, chairman and CEO of Workiva, said in a press release. "Wdesk users have always had complete assurance that their HTML filing and their XBRL filing are synchronized.”
