Greater Burlington Convention & Visitors Bureau accepting applications for community event funding

In preparation for 2018 community tourism events, the Greater Burlington Convention & Visitors Bureau is accepting applications for grant money to attract visitors to the area. 

The bureau sets aside a portion of its budget each year to finance events in Burlington. Money collected from hotel and motel tax goes toward assisting in tour planning, special activities, securing blocks for events, bid proposals and more, according to a press release.

Event coordinators are responsible for contacting the Convention & Visitors Bureau if they need arrangements for these services.

Applications are due by noon Oct. 2. The bureau will then review and request meetings with the applicants and make its final decision, awards given out no later than Oct. 30.
