Sioux City Human Rights Commission seeks nominations for War Eagle award

The Sioux City Human Rights Commission is currently seeking nominees for its War Eagle Human Rights Award, which is given to individuals who have a positive effect on civil rights in the Sioux City area.

The Sioux City Human Rights Commission is currently seeking nominees for its War Eagle Human Rights Award, which is given to individuals who have a positive effect on civil rights in the Sioux City area.

Nomination forms are available at City Hall in the Human Rights office or on the city of Sioux City’s website. All nominations are due by Oct. 23, according to an announcement. Individuals are not the only ones who can be nominated; businesses, nonprofits and youths can also be nominated for the award.

Applications can be mailed to the Sioux City Human Rights Commission, Room 410, City Hall, 405 Sixth St., Sioux City, IA 51102 or P. O. Box 447, Sioux City, IA 51102. Nominations can also be submitted by emailing pflemming@sioux-city.org.

The award will be presented to the winner at the commission’s celebration of Universal Human Rights Day on Dec. 8 at the Sioux City Public Museum.
