On Dec. 2, the Sioux City Parks and Recreation will be hosting the fourth annual Rock On! Climbing Competition at the Long Lines Family Rec Center Climbing Wall.

This is a family-friendly event and children ages 5 and up can participate. The competition will be divided into four divisions for climbers to enter: Youth (under 18), Beginner (5.7-5.9, and VB-V1), Intermediate (5.9+-5.11a, and V2-V4), and Advanced (5.11b and up, V4 and up). Note that climbers under 18 are not limited to signing up for the youth division.

The registration fee is $30 for those who make a payment before Dec. 2 and $35 on the day of the competition. Participants who pay before Nov. 18 will be guaranteed a T-shirt.

Before competing, all participants need to sign a waiver and a photo release, which can be signed upon arrival. Minors need their parent/legal guardian to sign these forms.

Participants can register online at webtrac.sioux-city.org, in person, or by calling the Parks and Recreation Administrative office at 712-279-6126 or 712-279-6250. Their office hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
