Newton Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

Des Moines insurtech startup Denim Labs Inc. announced that Charlie Turri has joined the company as chief technology officer.

Before joining Denim, Turri was vice president of information technology for West Des Moines-based Athene USA, where he led application development, program management, quality assurance and enterprise architecture.

He earlier held various leadership roles with an AIG subsidiary in Nashville, Tenn., where he led the design and execution of numerous technology solutions, including a first-of-its-kind mobile app for issuing insurance policies.

Turri will lead Denim’s technology strategy, including building the company’s artificial intelligence platform. Founded in 2016 by another former Athene executive, Gregory Bailey, Denim is in the early stages of developing artificial intelligence software to help insurers leverage mounds of big data collected through the marketing process.
