About 24.5 percent of the 396 degrees and certificates handed out by the Grinnell College in 2016-17 were to students in Social Sciences programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Grinnell conferred 97 bachelor's degrees in Social Sciences programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. Data shows the school gave out 34 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General, followed by 34 bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and 32 bachelor's degrees in Economics, General.

The college enrolled 1,699 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
