57 percent of applicants to Mount Mercy University were admitted for fall 2017


At Mount Mercy University, 68 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 68 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Cedar Rapids enrolled 1,848 students in fall 2017, including 1,517 in undergraduate and 331 in graduate programs, data shows. 16.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

73 percent of undergraduates are residents of Iowa, and 22 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (79 percent) and Black or African American (7 percent).

The school admitted 57 percent of the 1,457 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 29 percent enrolled.
