LEE ENTERPRISES: Davis Taylor will lead Lee’s operations in Napa Valley

Lee Enterprises issued the following announcement on Oct. 19.

Lee Enterprises, Incorporated (NYSE: LEE), a leading provider of news, information and advertising in 49 markets, announced today that Davis Taylor will become publisher of the Napa Valley Register in Napa, California effective November 1, 2018. Taylor will continue to serve as publisher of The Sentinelin Hanford, California. He succeeds Brenda Speth, who has left the company.

“Davis Taylor has demonstrated his ability to improve the performance in Hanford each year, and I am confident that success will continue in both enterprises as he moves to the publisher role in Napa,’ said Lee Group Publisher Cathy Hughes. “Davis’ background in advertising, coupled with his vast newspaper experience and knowledge of the California markets, make him the ideal choice to lead the successful and experienced team in Napa.”

Taylor was named publisher of The Sentinel in 2013 after serving as sales and marketing director for Gannett Co., Inc.’s Times-Delta Media Group. He also was a director of national, local and target marketing sales teams at The Seattle Times. His publishing career of 36 years includes sales and marketing executive positions at the Oakland Tribune and Media News Group, San Jose Mercury News and Harte-Hanks Communications.

“I’m very happy and excited about coming to the Napa Valley Register,” Taylor said. “The paper has a proud history of outstanding journalism and service to this community, which bodes well for our future.”

Taylor is a member of the Rotary Club of Hanford Sunset, including serving as president in 2017. He is an executive board member of the Kings County Economic Development Corporation and an executive board member of Main Street Hanford.
