Sammons Financial Group and United Way of Central Iowa partnered and held a fundraiser that raised more than $300,000.
The fundraising campaign lasted one week and raised $305,981, according to Midland National's blog. The money that was raised will benefit ongoing work in Iowa that United Way is currently doing.
The Day of Action, which was part of the fundraiser, included games and activities for those in the community to participate in.
Sammons and United Way of Central Iowa have worked together for the last three years for fundraisers and each year, Sammons matches contributions, which has resulted in Sammons now being in the Chairs Group of corporate donors, according to the blog.
United Way's goal is to improve education, health and financial independence of the residents in Iowa.
The decisions on how to use funds raised are made by cabinets, which are comprised of volunteers and experts in several fields.
Sammons is the parent company of Midland National.
