CompTIA, a nonprofit association dedicated to advancing the tech industry and workforce, is offering new technology training options to individuals and organizations. They have been added to Montana's Eligible Training Provider Lists, allowing workforce development agencies to utilize Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funds for CompTIA's tech workforce training programs. This initiative aims to address the perception that individuals may lack the background, experience, or skills needed for success in the tech workforce.

To further support workforce development professionals, CompTIA is organizing a free webinar titled "Montana Tech Workforce Trends" on November 1. The webinar will explore employment prospects in the tech sector and provide valuable guidance and recommendations. This webinar is part of CompTIA's efforts to open doors to well-paying tech jobs, given the high demand for talent in the industry.

Montana has seen a significant number of tech job openings, with over 3,500 in the first nine months of 2023. The median tech wages in the state are estimated at $72,873, which is significantly higher than the state's overall median wage.

According to a press release from CompTIA, the top five tech occupations in Montana are Software Developer, Computer Occupations (Other), Computer User Support Specialist, Computer Systems Analyst, and Data Scientist. The top five industries for tech jobs are Professional, Scientific & Technical, Finance and Insurance, Information, Administration and Support, and Manufacturing. The top five locations for tech jobs in Montana are Yellowstone, Lewis and Clark, Missoula, Gallatin, and Flathead counties.

CompTIA's training programs in Montana provide opportunities for individuals to gain the skills and certifications needed for a successful career in the technology field. The CompTIA A+: IT Support Specialist program, for example, equips students for CompTIA A+ certification exams, which is internationally recognized and serves as the industry standard for launching a career in technology.

In addition to training programs, CompTIA offers various resources and webinars to its partners. Partners can access informative webinars covering diverse topics, such as certification launches and industry updates, through the partner website. CompTIA also provides vendor-neutral training through on-demand courses or live virtual sessions, allowing members to educate their personnel, partners, and potential clients on current and dynamic business aspects within the technology industry.

With its commitment to advancing the tech industry and workforce, CompTIA continues to provide valuable training options and resources to individuals and organizations, helping them develop their technology skills and knowledge.
